Assembly, Installation & Setup Policy

NAVARRO LIVING LLC · ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION & SETUP POLICY

What setup actually involves, and exactly how we support you through it.

My Luxe Backyard sells pergolas, gazebos, patio furniture, fire pits, saunas, and cold plunges that arrive ready to assemble, not ready to use straight out of the box. This page sets out, honestly and in full, what assembly or installation each category requires, what we include to help you do it, where a licensed professional is legally required, and exactly who to contact if something is missing, damaged, or unclear.

Our Approach

A retailer's honest account of what setup actually involves

My Luxe Backyard is owned and operated by Navarro Living LLC. We are a retailer, not an installation contractor. The pergolas, gazebos, patio furniture, fire pits, saunas, and cold plunges we sell ship in components, typically flat-packed or in multiple boxes, and arrive with the manufacturer's hardware, fasteners, and assembly instructions included.

Unless a specific product listing states otherwise, assembly and any required installation work, including site preparation, anchoring, and electrical or gas hookups, is the customer's responsibility, whether you complete it yourself or hire a contractor, electrician, or gas fitter. We tell you upfront, on the product page, what tools, skills, and time a given item typically takes, and we flag clearly when a licensed professional is legally required rather than just recommended.

We wrote this page specifically for the products we actually sell. It isn't a copied template, and we update it whenever our supplier base or assembly requirements change.

What the words in this policy actually mean

Assembly and installation terms get used loosely across the outdoor living industry. Here's exactly what each term means when we use it on this page or on a product listing.

Self-Assembly (DIY)

The product ships unassembled or partially assembled, with hardware, fasteners, and instructions included. No installer is included in the purchase price, and assembly is completed by you or someone you hire.

Professional Installation

Assembly, anchoring, or a utility hookup performed by a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, or gas fitter that the customer hires separately. Not included with any purchase unless a product page explicitly says so.

Site Preparation

Everything the customer arranges before assembly begins: a level, cleared, hard surface; confirmed access to power, gas, or water; and any required permits or HOA sign-off. This is not something we perform or ship with your order.

Hardwired / Fixed Connection

A direct, permanent electrical or gas connection to your home's wiring or fuel line, as opposed to a plug-in cord or a portable propane tank. Fixed connections must be made by a licensed professional under federal and state code.

Setup By Product Type

What assembly and installation actually involves for what we sell

Outdoor structures, gas appliances, electrical equipment, and furniture each come with different setup demands. Here's a transparent, category-specific breakdown of skill level, typical time, and where a licensed professional comes in. Exact specifications always live on the individual product page, since requirements vary by brand and model.

Pergolas & Louvered Roofs

Moderate · 2 people · 3–6 hours

Frame panels bolt together using the included hardware and a power drill. The structure must be anchored to a deck, patio slab, or footings exactly as the manufacturer's instructions specify, to meet the wind-load rating stated on the product page. Motorized louvre or canopy models need a grounded outdoor-rated outlet; hardwired versions require a licensed electrician.

Gazebos

Moderate · 2 people · 2–5 hours

Hardtop roof panels and the supporting frame assemble with the included bolts and an Allen key or drill. Anchoring to a level, hard surface with the included anchor kit is required for stability in wind and is not optional. Netting and privacy curtains attach without tools once the frame is up.

Patio Furniture Sets

Easy · 1 person · 30–90 minutes

Setup is mainly attaching legs, arms, and tabletops with the included bolts, plus fitting cushions and covers. A basic hand tool is often included in the box; nothing beyond that is needed. No anchoring or utility connection applies to this category.

Fire Pits

Easy to moderate · fuel-type dependent

Portable propane units connect to a standard LP tank with simple hand-tightened fittings and typically need no permit. A fixed natural-gas connection or any conversion to a home gas line is a licensed plumber or gas fitter job under your local fuel gas code, and most municipalities require a permit and inspection for that work.

Saunas

Moderate to advanced · 2+ people

Cabin or barrel panels assemble using a tongue-and-groove or bolt system shown step by step in the manufacturer's guide. Most heaters require a dedicated, GFCI-protected circuit; smaller units may use a 120V GFCI outlet, while larger hardwired heaters require a licensed electrician on a dedicated 220–240V circuit. Exact electrical specs are listed on each product page before you buy.

Cold Plunges

Moderate · tub plus chiller hookup

The tub or shell itself assembles with included hardware and is DIY-friendly. The chiller unit needs a dedicated, GFCI-protected electrical circuit per the manufacturer's spec sheet; we recommend a licensed electrician complete that connection. Check all plumbing fittings for leaks before the first fill.

Box counts, weight, required tools, and electrical or gas specifications are listed on every product page before checkout. Email support@myluxebackyard.com with the product name and we'll send the full manufacturer assembly guide and parts list ahead of your purchase.
Legal Framework

The codes and regulations behind safe installation

This page is written to operate within, not around, the codes that already govern electrical and gas work in your home. Two bodies of regulation matter most for the products we sell.

Electrical Safety & the National Electrical Code

GFCI protection is required outdoors
The National Electrical Code requires ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for outdoor receptacles and for equipment near water, including sauna heaters and cold plunge chillers. We design our product specs around this requirement and state it on the listing.
Licensed electricians for fixed circuits
Most state and local electrical codes require a permit and a licensed electrician for any permanent, hardwired circuit. Arranging and paying for that work is the customer's responsibility, not ours.
Specs disclosed before you buy
We list voltage, amperage, and circuit requirements on the product page itself, so you can plan electrical work or confirm it with your electrician before placing an order, not after the box arrives.

Gas Appliances, Permits & Building Codes

The National Fuel Gas Code
NFPA 54 governs the installation of fuel gas piping and gas appliances nationwide. Any fixed gas-line connection or conversion should be completed by a licensed gas fitter or plumber in accordance with this code and your local amendments.
Local permits and HOA approval
Many municipalities require a building permit for fixed outdoor structures above a certain footprint, and gas-line work almost always requires a permit and inspection. Homeowner association approval may also apply. Securing these is the customer's responsibility.
Anchoring to the manufacturer's spec
Structures must be anchored exactly as the included instructions describe to meet their stated wind rating. This protects you and your household, and it's also required for manufacturer warranty coverage to remain in effect.

This section is provided for transparency and general information. It is not legal or engineering advice, and permit, electrical, and gas code requirements vary by state and municipality. If you have questions about how these rules apply to your property, we'd encourage you to contact your local building department or a licensed contractor.

Outside the scope of this policy

This policy does not include in-home assembly or installation labor performed by us; that service is not bundled with any purchase unless a specific product listing says otherwise. It also excludes permits, inspections, HOA approval, and electrician, plumber, or contractor fees, along with site work such as pouring a concrete pad, leveling a yard, or running new electrical or gas lines to the install location.

This doesn't reduce your other rights

Damage caused by incorrect assembly, inadequate anchoring, or non-compliant hardwiring may affect manufacturer warranty coverage, as described in our Warranty & Warranty Disclaimer Policy. That said, it doesn't reduce your right to return an unused, unassembled item within our standard return window, or any statutory consumer protection you hold under state law.
