Newsletter & Email Marketing Policy
What we send, why we send it, and how you stay in control.
My Luxe Backyard sends emails about the pergolas, gazebos, patio furniture, fire pits, saunas, and cold plunges we sell — new arrivals, restock alerts, seasonal guides, and occasional promotions. This page explains exactly how we build our mailing list, what you can expect to receive, how often, and the straightforward way to stop receiving it at any time.
A straightforward account of how our email list actually works
My Luxe Backyard is owned and operated by Navarro Living LLC. We run our own newsletter and promotional email program — we don't outsource it to a third-party marketer, and we don't buy, rent, trade, or scrape email addresses from anyone. Every address on our list got there because a real person gave it to us, on purpose, through our website.
We wrote this page because email marketing rules are often buried in dense legal text that's hard to actually use. Here, in plain language, is how we collect email addresses, what we send once you're subscribed, how often, and the exact mechanism for leaving the list whenever you decide to. We also explain the federal and state laws that shape all of it, so you know your rights don't depend on us being generous — they're already yours.
This policy covers marketing and promotional email only. Order confirmations, shipping updates, and other transactional messages tied to a purchase you've made are covered separately, since those aren't something you can opt out of while an order is active — see the note on transactional email below.
What the words in this policy actually mean
Email marketing terms get thrown around loosely. Here's exactly what each one means when we use it on this page.
Marketing Email
Any message whose primary purpose is to advertise or promote our products — newsletters, sale announcements, new-arrival notices, and similar content. These require your opt-in and always include an unsubscribe link.
Transactional Email
A message tied to an order you've already placed — confirmations, shipping notices, delivery updates, or warranty and support replies. These aren't marketing, and can't be turned off while you have an active order.
Opt-In / Consent
An affirmative action you take — checking a box, submitting a sign-up form, or entering your email at checkout without unchecking a pre-selected marketing box — that adds you to our list. We never assume consent.
Unsubscribe / Opt-Out
Your request to stop receiving marketing email, made by clicking the link at the bottom of any campaign or emailing us directly. It removes you from promotional sends; it doesn't affect order-related messages.
The kinds of emails you'll get if you subscribe
We keep our list to a handful of email types, all genuinely related to shopping for outdoor living products with us. We don't sell inbox space to outside advertisers.
Welcome & Sign-Up Offers
Sent once, shortly after you subscribeIf you join through a pop-up or footer sign-up offering a discount, we'll send the code and a short introduction to what we sell and how our warranty and shipping policies work.
New Arrivals & Restocks
As new products or restocks go liveNotices when a new pergola, gazebo, sauna, or other item joins the catalog, or when a popular product that sold out is back in stock.
Sales & Seasonal Promotions
Periodic, tied to holidays and seasonsDiscount events around spring and summer outdoor-living season, holiday sales, and clearance on select fire pits, furniture sets, and structures.
Cart & Browse Reminders
Only if you've browsed or added to cartA reminder if you leave an item in your cart or view a product without buying it. These stop the moment you unsubscribe, the same as any other marketing email.
Care Guides & Buying Advice
Occasional, tied to product categoriesPractical content: how to winterize a hardtop gazebo, choosing between a barrel sauna and a cabin sauna, or maintaining a cold plunge chiller.
Policy & Order Notices
Rare, only when something changesOccasional updates if a shipping carrier, warranty term, or store policy changes in a way that affects products you've bought or are considering.
The three ways you can end up on our list — and never any others
Every subscriber joins through one of these paths. None of them are pre-checked or bundled into a purchase without a clear, separate choice.
Newsletter sign-up form
The email field in our website footer or a sign-up pop-up. Submitting it is your opt-in; nothing else is required.
Checkout marketing checkbox
An unchecked box at checkout inviting you to receive offers and updates. Buying a pergola or fire pit never requires checking it.
Account creation
If you create an account and separately opt in to marketing communications during that process.
Never through a purchase alone
Placing an order by itself does not add you to our marketing list. You'll still receive transactional emails about that specific order.
The federal and state law behind this policy
This page is written to operate within, not around, the laws that already protect you as a subscriber. Two bodies of law matter most here.
The CAN-SPAM Act
State Privacy & Consumer Protection Law
This section is provided for transparency and general information. It is not legal advice, and privacy rights can vary by state. If you have questions about how these laws apply to your specific situation, we'd encourage you to contact your state consumer protection office or a qualified attorney.
How to unsubscribe, start to finish
Click "unsubscribe"
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click opens a confirmation page.
Confirm, no login needed
You won't be asked to log in, answer a survey, or provide a reason. Confirming removes you immediately.
Or email us directly
Prefer to ask a person? Email support@myluxebackyard.com with "unsubscribe" and the address to remove, and we'll handle it manually.
Transactional email continues
Unsubscribing stops marketing email only. You'll still receive confirmations and shipping updates for any active order.
What email data we collect and use
To run our newsletter, we store the email address you provide, whether you opened or clicked a past campaign, and basic shopping activity like items viewed or left in your cart, so we can send relevant content instead of generic blasts. That's the extent of it.
What we don't do
We don't sell your email address to data brokers, share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing, or combine it with sensitive personal information. Full detail on data handling, retention, and your rights lives in our Privacy Policy.
Independent places to learn more or raise a concern
These federal and state resources exist for any consumer, anywhere, and operate independently of My Luxe Backyard. We'd still encourage you to contact us first at support@myluxebackyard.com so we can help directly and quickly.
