Our Approach

A retailer's honest account of how recall monitoring actually works here

My Luxe Backyard is owned and operated by Navarro Living LLC. We are a retailer, not a manufacturer. We select pergolas, gazebos, patio furniture, fire pits, saunas, and cold plunges from established outdoor living brands and authorized distributors, then sell them to customers across the Continental United States.

Because these categories include gas-burning appliances, electrical heaters and chillers, and load-bearing structures, product safety is something we take seriously beyond what's legally required of a retailer. We review the manufacturer and distributor information behind every product we list, we check active recalls and safety notices published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and we act immediately if we learn that something we've sold is affected.

We wrote this page specifically for the products we actually sell. It isn't a copied template, and we update it whenever our supplier base or the applicable federal process changes.

If you believe a product you purchased from us is unsafe or has been recalled, stop using it immediately, do not attempt a repair yourself, and contact us at support@myluxebackyard.com or 609-354-7215 right away. For anything involving fire, gas, smoke, or an immediate injury risk, contact local emergency services first.

Definitions, In Plain Language

What the words in this policy actually mean

Recall terminology gets used loosely. Here's exactly what each term means when we use it on this page or in a customer notice.

Product Recall

A formal action, usually initiated by the manufacturer and often overseen by the CPSC, to remove, repair, replace, or refund a product because it poses a substantial risk of injury or does not meet a mandatory safety standard.

Safety Notice / Advisory

A less formal communication, sometimes issued ahead of or instead of a full recall, alerting customers to a potential hazard, a usage limitation, or a recommended precaution for a specific product or batch.

Voluntary vs. Mandatory Recall

Most U.S. recalls are voluntary, initiated by the manufacturer in cooperation with the CPSC. A mandatory recall, which is rare, is ordered directly by the Commission when a company will not act voluntarily.

Corrective Action

The specific remedy offered in a recall, typically a free repair kit, a replacement part or unit, a refund, or instructions to stop use and dispose of the product safely.

Monitoring By Product Type

How we watch for safety issues across what we sell

Different product types carry different hazard profiles, so we watch for different things. Here's a transparent, category-specific breakdown of the safety areas we monitor most closely for each product family.

Pergolas & Louvered Roofs

Structural stability · motorized mechanisms

We monitor for structural defects that could affect anchoring or stability, and for reported issues with motorized louvre or retractable canopy mechanisms, which involve electrical components and moving parts under load.

Gazebos

Frame & hardtop panel integrity

We monitor for reported frame welding or panel-attachment defects that could compromise structural integrity, particularly under wind or snow load, consistent with the manufacturer's stated ratings.

Patio Furniture Sets

Tip-over risk · cushion fabric flammability

We monitor for reported frame collapse, weld failure, or tip-over hazards, and for cushion or fabric flammability notices, which are subject to federal flammability standards for upholstered furniture.

Fire Pits

Gas connection & burner integrity, highest priority

Gas-fueled fire pits receive our closest attention. We monitor for reported issues with propane connections, burner assemblies, ignition systems, and heat shielding, since these directly relate to fire and burn hazards.

Saunas

Electrical heater safety, ETL-certified components

We monitor for safety notices affecting electric heating elements and control panels, particularly around certification status, wiring, and overheat protection, given the enclosed, high-temperature, electrically powered nature of these units.

Cold Plunges

Electrical chiller & GFCI protection

We monitor for safety notices related to the chiller and compressor unit, an electrical appliance operating near water, including issues affecting ground-fault protection, wiring insulation, and housing seals.

Every fire pit we sell is tested by the manufacturer before shipping, and every sauna and cold plunge unit we list carries manufacturer-stated ETL or equivalent certification for its electrical components. Email support@myluxebackyard.com with the product name if you'd like documentation of a specific item's certification before you buy.
Registration & Traceability

Why registering your product matters, and how we can reach you

If a recall is ever issued, the fastest path to a fix runs through being able to reach you and confirm exactly which product and batch you own.

What we recommend after delivery

  • Complete the manufacturer's product registration card or online form included with your order, if one is provided.
  • Keep your order confirmation email and receipt; your order number is the fastest way for us to locate your purchase.
  • Photograph or note the serial number, model number, or date-of-manufacture tag on gas, electrical, and structural items.
  • Keep the original box, manual, and any safety inserts until you're confident the product is fully assembled and working correctly.

How we can reach you

We retain order records, including the shipping address, email, and phone number used at checkout, which lets us contact you directly if a product you purchased becomes subject to a manufacturer recall or safety notice. If you registered separately with the manufacturer, they may also contact you directly. Keeping your contact details current with us, through your account or by emailing support@myluxebackyard.com, keeps that channel open.

Our Recall Response Process

What happens, start to finish, if one of our products is recalled

01

We identify affected orders

We cross-reference the recalled model, batch, or date range against our own sales records to identify every customer who purchased the affected item.

02

We remove it from sale immediately

The affected product listing is taken down or marked unavailable across our website and any advertising channels, including Google Shopping, right away.

03

We notify affected customers directly

We email and, where we have a phone number, call every identifiable customer with the safety issue, the manufacturer's instructions, and the remedy offered.

04

We help you complete the remedy

Whether the fix is a free repair kit, a replacement part or unit, or a full refund, we help coordinate it with the manufacturer or handle it directly, whichever is faster for you.

Legal Framework

The federal and state law behind this policy

Product safety and recalls in the United States are governed primarily by federal law, with state consumer protection law operating alongside it.

Consumer Product Safety Act

CPSC oversight
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has authority over most of the products we sell, and maintains the federal recall and safety notice database we monitor.
Section 15(b) reporting duty
Manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers who obtain information reasonably supporting the conclusion that a product contains a defect creating a substantial risk of injury must report it to the CPSC.
Mandatory safety standards
Gas-fueled appliances and electrical products must meet applicable federal and industry safety standards, and the certifications shown on a product page reflect the manufacturer's representation of that compliance.

State Consumer Protection Law

Unfair & deceptive practices acts
Every state maintains its own consumer protection statute prohibiting the sale of unsafe products without disclosure, alongside and independent of the federal recall system.
New Jersey requirements
As a New Jersey-registered company, Navarro Living LLC is also subject to the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and the oversight of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
Your rights are not reduced
Nothing in this Recall Policy & Product Safety Monitoring page is intended to reduce, waive, or limit any right you already hold under federal or your state's consumer protection or product liability law.

This section is provided for transparency and general information. It is not legal advice, and recall procedures and consumer rights can vary by state. If you have questions about how these laws apply to your specific situation, we'd encourage you to contact your state consumer protection office or a qualified attorney.

What this policy does not do

This page describes how we monitor for and respond to manufacturer recalls and CPSC safety notices. It does not create an independent warranty, does not cover damage from misuse, improper installation, or unauthorized modification, and does not replace the specific remedy a manufacturer offers as part of an actual recall, which governs over anything written here.

This doesn't reduce your other rights

Nothing here limits your rights under our separate Warranty & Warranty Disclaimer Policy, our 30-Day Return & Refund Policy, or your statutory rights under state consumer protection and product liability law, all of which continue to apply alongside this page.
