Payment & security Policy
How you pay, what it costs, and exactly what protects you.
My Luxe Backyard accepts a wide range of secure payment methods for pergolas, gazebos, patio furniture, fire pits, saunas, and cold plunges shipped across the Continental United States. This page explains, in plain language, which payment methods we accept, when your card or account is charged, how pricing and sales tax are calculated, and the security standards that protect every transaction on this site.
A straightforward account of how paying us actually works
My Luxe Backyard is owned and operated by Navarro Living LLC, a retailer of outdoor living products sold through a single online storefront at myluxebackyard.com. We do not take payment over the phone, by wire transfer, by check, or through any channel outside our checkout. Every purchase is processed through the encrypted checkout built into our website.
We wrote this policy specifically for how our store operates today: what we sell, the price ranges our products fall into, and the checkout technology we actually use. It is not a copied template, and we will update it if our accepted payment methods, tax obligations, or checkout provider change.
This Payment Policy works alongside, and does not replace, our Return & Refund Policy, our Shipping Policy, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. Read together, those four pages and this one describe the complete purchase experience on our site.
Every way you can pay at our checkout
We accept the following payment methods at checkout. The methods shown to you may vary slightly by device and browser, since digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay only appear on compatible hardware. All card payments are processed in U.S. dollars regardless of your card's home currency; your bank may apply its own foreign transaction or conversion fee, which is set by your bank, not by us.
What the payment terms on this page actually mean
Checkout and billing language gets used loosely. Here's exactly what each term means when we use it on this page or at checkout.
Authorization
A temporary hold your card issuer places on your available funds when you submit an order, confirming the funds or credit exist before we capture payment.
Capture
The point at which an authorized amount is actually collected from your account. On our store, capture happens immediately after authorization, at the time you place your order.
Sales Tax Nexus
The legal connection between our business and a state that requires us to collect that state's sales tax on your order. Whether tax applies depends on your shipping address, not ours.
Chargeback
A payment reversal initiated with your card issuer or bank rather than with us directly. We ask that you contact us first, since most issues can be resolved faster that way.
When your card or account is actually charged
You review your order total
Before you submit payment, checkout displays the item price, shipping cost, any applicable sales tax, and the final total, all in U.S. dollars.
Your payment method is authorized
When you submit your order, your card issuer, PayPal, or wallet provider confirms the funds are available and places a hold for the order total.
Payment is captured immediately
For in-stock items, we capture, meaning we actually collect, the full order total at the moment your order is placed, not when it ships.
You receive a receipt by email
A confirmation email with your order number, itemized total, and payment method on file is sent as soon as payment clears successfully.
Pricing & currency
Every price shown on myluxebackyard.com is listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and includes no hidden fees. The price you see on a product page, plus any shipping charge and applicable sales tax shown at checkout, is the full amount you will be charged. We do not add checkout surcharges, card processing fees, or membership charges of any kind.
- All transactions settle in USD, even if your card is issued outside the United States.
- Promotional discounts and coupon codes are applied to the item subtotal before sales tax is calculated.
- If a pricing error appears on the site due to a technical or human mistake, we will contact you before charging the corrected amount, or cancel the order and refund it in full.
Sales tax
We are required to collect sales tax in states where Navarro Living LLC has a legal tax obligation, known as nexus, based on state economic nexus laws that apply to online retailers nationwide. The exact tax rate is calculated automatically from your shipping address and shown as a separate line item before you submit payment.
- Tax-exempt organizations should contact support@myluxebackyard.com before ordering with valid exemption documentation.
- We ship to the Continental U.S. only and do not currently charge or collect customs duties, since no international or Alaska/Hawaii shipments are accepted.
How your payment information is protected
We do not build or run our own payment infrastructure. Instead, every transaction is routed through our checkout provider's PCI DSS‑compliant systems, which are independently audited to the security standard used across the card payment industry.
Encryption in transit
TLS / SSL · Full checkoutEvery page of checkout is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so your card number, name, and address are never transmitted in plain text.
We never see or store full card numbers
Tokenized · No local storageFull card numbers are handled entirely by our PCI DSS‑compliant payment processor. Our own systems only ever receive a tokenized reference, never the raw card number.
Automated fraud screening
Every order · Before captureOrders are automatically screened for signs of card fraud. A flagged order may be held briefly for manual review or additional verification before it ships.
Declined, held, and failed payments
Declined payments. If your card issuer or PayPal declines a charge, your order is not placed, no funds are captured, and you'll see an on-screen message at checkout. Common causes include an incorrect card number, expired card, insufficient funds, or your bank's own fraud filters. We recommend confirming your details or contacting your card issuer directly, since we cannot see the specific reason a bank declines a transaction.
Authorization holds that don't convert to a sale. If a payment is authorized but the order cannot be completed, for example if the fraud screening step in the section above does not clear, any authorization hold is voided and released automatically. Depending on your bank, a released hold can take 3 to 10 business days to fully disappear from your available balance; this delay is set by your bank, not by us.
Canceled or unfulfillable orders. On the rare occasion we must cancel an order after payment was captured, for example due to a stock discrepancy, we refund the full captured amount to your original payment method and notify you by email. Refunds to the original payment method typically post within 7 business days, consistent with our Return & Refund Policy.
How discount codes and sale pricing affect your charge
Promotional codes and sale prices, where offered, are applied automatically or entered at checkout before you submit payment. Discounts reduce the item subtotal that sales tax is calculated on, so the tax you're charged always reflects the discounted price, not the original list price. One discount code may be used per order unless a specific promotion states otherwise, and discount codes have no cash value and cannot be combined with each other or redeemed for cash. We do not currently issue or sell store gift cards; if that changes, this section will be updated to explain how gift card balances are applied at checkout.
The federal and state law behind how we handle payment
This page is written to operate within, not around, the laws that already protect you as a buyer paying online. Two bodies of law matter most to how and when we charge you.

State Sales Tax & Consumer Protection Law
This section is provided for transparency and general information. It is not legal advice, and payment and billing rights can vary by state. If you have questions about how these laws apply to your specific situation, we'd encourage you to contact your state consumer protection office or a qualified attorney.
Independent places to learn more or raise a payment concern
These federal and state resources exist for any consumer, anywhere, and operate independently of My Luxe Backyard. We'd still encourage you to contact us first at support@myluxebackyard.com so we can help directly and quickly.
